In conjunction with downtown Livingston’s Holiday Stroll, authors E. Donnall Thomas Jr. and Chase Reynolds Ewald, and photographer Audrey Hall will be on hand to sign copies of their new books on Friday, December 4, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Elk River Books.
Montana Peaks, Streams and Prairie is the new book by renowned traditional bowhunter and outdoor writer E. Donnall Thomas Jr. In it, he offers a series of personal ecological reflections on subjects as grand as the grizzly, as controversial as the wolf, and as obscure as the upland plover. From native lore and the observations of Lewis and Clark to the present day, Thomas traces the history of human attitudes toward the region’s wildlife. The result is both a guide and a testament to the value of Western wildlife and ecosystems.
American Rustic, written by Chase Reynolds Ewald with photography by Audrey Hall, is an intimate look at rustic homes, cabins, architecture and decorating in true American rustic style. Included are fresh takes on traditional log cabins, sustainable projects, artistic abodes and places for play―all artistically photographed and discussed in exquisite prose. From a New Mexico Pueblo to a New York lake house, from humble to grand, these dream retreats will carry away your imagination.
The signings will take place downstairs at Elk River Books, 120 N. Main St. The event is free and refreshments will be served. For more information, call 333-2330.
