Hunting, Fishing and Western History

May 1, 2011 | Titles

Right now, we’ve got an amazing selection of hunting, fishing and Western history on the shelves thanks to John and Maureen Hull: Roderick Haig-Brown on trout, Jack O’Connor on sheep and desert game, and a signed copy of Clyde “Snooky” Williamson’s massive Winchester Lever Legacy.

At the same time, Linda Papworth donated her late husband’s collection of southwestern Indian history and lore: we’ve got books about the Apache coming out our ears, as well as stories from less infamous tribes: a Papago language primer, Frank Water’s seminal Book of the Hopi, A Short History of the Indians of the United States by the eminent anthropologist Edward H. Spicer, and a beautiful hard cover copy of Peter Matthiessen’s In the Spirit of Crazy Horse.
