Robert Hughes’ “Dirty Money”

Aug 2, 2019 | Events

Livingston author Robert Hughes will read from and discuss his new thriller, Dirty Money, on Thursday, August 22, at Livingston’s Elk River Books. The free event will begin at 7 p.m. in the bookstore’s upstairs event room, and include a book signing and reception.

Dirty Money is the second of Hughes’ Brian and Darcy McKay mystery novels, following his debut, Bone Mountain. In the novel, ex-FBI agent McKay and his niece once again team up to battle corporate thugs and other criminals to solve a murder that brings them from Chicago to rural Montana.

Arthur Plotnik, author of The Elements of Expression, describes Dirty Money as being fraught with “a taut plot, meaty details and stone-scary heavies.”

Hughes is a member of the Mystery Writers of America. His short stories of crime and mystery have appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines, including Death in a Box, Death and a Cup of Tea, Death and the Detective, Fedora and Fedora II. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. As a financial professional in Chicago, he investigated white-collar crime, bringing several embezzlers to justice.

Elk River Books, a member of the Antiquarian Bookseller’s Association of America, specializes in collectible outdoor, regional and Western history books, and provides a lively venue for southwest Montana’s unique literary community. For more information, call 333-2330.
