Elk River Arts & Lectures presents
A Flight of Writers

Elk River Arts & Lectures invites you to warm up with locally distilled spirits and listen to regional writers as they share poems, current projects, and antidotes to keep you afloat all the way into April.

Elk River Arts & Lectures has teamed up with Wildrye Distilling to present an intimate evening with five local authors and a flight of Wildrye spirits on Thursday, March 30 at Echo Arts in Bozeman, Montana.

The evening will feature Montana Apsáalooke educator, community advocate, and filmmaker Shane Doyle; Heather White, author of One Green Thing: Discover Your Hidden Power to Help Save the Planet; poet Marc Beaudin, author of Life List and From Coltrane to Coal Train: An Eco-jazz Suite; and the indomitable husband-wife writing team, Betsy Gaines Quammen (American Zion) and David Quammen (Breathless: The Scientific Race to Defeat a Deadly Virus). Each will be paired with a locally crafted spirit donated by Wildrye, and toasted by host CMarie Furhman, director of the Elk River Writers Workshop.

Tickets include a tasting of Wildrye’s wares, plus light appetizers by Seasonal Montana. In addition, each writer will be represented by a basket of select delectables (books and spirits), which will be auctioned off.

“We wanted an event to help break us out of winter, gather friends new and old, and celebrate what’s to come this summer,” says event organizer Andrea Peacock.

Doors open at 6:30. Tickets are $25, and are available here via Eventbrite and in person at Elk River Books, 122 S. 2nd St., Livingston, MT.

Proceeds will benefit the Elk River Writers Workshop, a week-long event held at Chico Hot Springs annually in August. The workshop is a project of Elk River Arts & Lectures, a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating and celebrating the literary arts in south-central Montana.
