In an effort to support independent authors and publishers, as well as to introduce our readers to great new books, Elk River Books will hold bi-annual group readings and book signings called the “Emerging Writers Showcase.” This first showcase will take place Thursday, October 13, 2016.
By grouping together 3-5 authors, we hope to increase audience size, sales and media exposure to benefit everyone involved. The event will also be a great opportunity for readers to discover new writers, for writers to network with other writers, and to build upon the continuing vibrancy of Livingston’s literary community.
Each writer chosen to participate will give a 10-15 minute reading/talk, followed by a group question and answer session, and book signing. Writers must be able to provide books, which will be sold by Elk River Books at our standard commission rate of 40% (60% paid to the author).

Deadline for book submissions: June 1, 2016. Selected authors will be notified by July 1.
Books will be selected on the merits of their literary quality, professionalism of design and production, and potential appeal to our audience. Books not selected will be held for 30 days for pick-up, and afterwards, donated locally. We are unable to return books by mail.
