Former senior editor for CNN’s The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, John DeDakis will visit Elk River Books to sign copies of his latest mystery novel, Bullet in the Chamber, on Friday, February 16, 2018, from noon to 5 p.m.
Bullet in the Chamber is the fourth book featuring journalist Lark Chadwick, who seems to keep finding herself in “the wrong place at the right time.” In this case, it’s the White House briefing room when an attack leaves the president missing. The story also draws on DeDakis’ personal pain of losing his 22-year-old son to a heroin overdose. Earlier books in the series are Fast Track, Bluff and Troubled Water.
In addition to his work with Blitzer, DeDakis is a former White House correspondent. During his 45-year career in journalism, including 25 years at CNN, he has interviewed such luminaries as Alfred Hitchcock and Jimmy Carter, and has won both Emmy and Peabody Awards. He also works as a writing coach and teaches workshops around the country.
