Book signing: Jay Bentley cooks on the Open Range

Nov 10, 2012 | Events

Jay Bentley (founder, owner and operator of The Mint and Café in Belgrade) will be on hand to sign copies of the new cookbook he co-authored with Pulitzer-prize winning writer Patrick Dillon, Open Range: Steaks, Chops and More from Big Sky Country. “Open Range in a culinary sense represents to me the idea of food that is both a combination of traditional and free ranging ideas, borrowing from the ideas of others while giving it your own particular brand,” Bentley says. “Montana has always been a land of diverse cultures and free ideas and I like to think its food reflects that.”

Livingston photographer Lynn Donaldson took photos for the book, and the result is part cookbook, part Montana history, feast for the eyes. Bentley will be in the store from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 15.
